I work with at-risk teens. I have a student who is trying their best to get into college, but continues to hit roadblocks. Most recently, their financial aid fell through because their parents have not filed taxes for (at least) two years. What can this student do? They are 18. Is there anything they can do on their own, assuming no help from their parents?
