My girlfriend recently filed her taxes and was made aware that she owes the federal government around 5k. We went back and looked at one of her paystubs and noticed that her employer (she works as an ICU nurse for a major hospital) had not been withholding any money for the federal income tax. She is frustrated that she didn’t notice before, and we are confused on how we should move forward with this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated!
