Ok so I used Turbo Tax and they said I was "in excess" $3000+because my MAGI was too high and I need to pay $320 penality. What i don't get is that I only contributed $9000 to my work (pretax traditional) 401k and $2200 to my private (Roth posttax) IRA. How am I in excess? And...do I need to claim any of this at all since I am not looking for a deduction?
You guys are usually my go-to for financial help but If I find a Tax sub I may crosspost this.
