This is something I've always struggled with so any help is appreciated. My mitre saw is a single bevel with a very small fence of about an inch. When I cut baseboard I lay it flat. I have always measured the wall then marked the trim to that length. I typically then over cut then trim down about a 1/16 of an inch at a time which takes forever. The reason I do this is to accommodate for the mitre. So if I mark the baseboard at say 33 inches then cut for an inside corner it's really more like 34 inches long. Is there a proper way to measure baseboard when cutting it flat. I realize this issue doesn't exist when cutting against the fence. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2IbEYOb
