Hey folks,
My current credit score is 720. Nothing I seem to do boosts it past this point. I owe around 30k in student loans that I put a payment towards every month, am aggressively paying off a 9k car loan and should have it gone by the end of the year. I make 55k a year. My oldest credit card is 7 years old. I have $3,500 available to me in credit and currently owe nothing on any credit cards or to any other lenders.
What are my options? Should I try to get more credit? Do I just need to chill out and do what I'm doing and wait?
Also - for the credit card ages - I've read that the "good" range is 8 years old for credit card ages. I should be there with my oldest card by August this year.
People seem to disagree on the scores themselves. One source said that 720 was 'fair', one said it was 'good' and one said that the excellent range doesn't start until 800. What's true? Or rather, how do businesses or mortgage lenders make decisions on this?
Thanks in advance!
