Howdy all. Ive searched this sub reddit and found some info, but nothing really on these exact situations. Sorry if this is already posted questions.
First One. Heat. I thrive in the cold. So i don't mind a cool house. Im ok with having the thermostat set to 60 in the winter. The girlfriend on the other hand.. is always cold. Now when we first moved in together, her average electric bill was 400 dollars. Heat on 72, poorly insulated house etc etc. I couldnt deal with that. So we made compromises.
We have a smaller rental now, fits us fine. However, she is always complaining shes cold. She's gotten better about wearing sweaters and socks and stuff. But Ill come home. The heats on 66, and shes on the couch watching tv looking like shes in Antarctica. Sweat pants. Hoodies. Slippers. Blankets. And she still says shes cold.
Would getting a space heater for that room still be cost saving? Thinking if i could turn the thermostat down even more, and have a space heater near the couch to keep her warm. Or if the space heater running just negates that.
