I recently buoght a bamboo wood plank to use as a desk. It was already quite smooth, but I wanted to make sure so I sanded it with 120, 150 and 240 grit sandpaper, and then with a 320 grit smoothing sponge. The wood felt nice and smooth so I vacuumed it and wiped it down with a moist rag. I then put on 2 coatings of a hardwax oil finish.Only after putting on 2 layers did I notice that the wood now feels quite textured and somewhat rough. After some googling I realized I probably caused grain raising with the rag. On top of that, quite a few dust and other particles fell on the wood while drying. So now I'm wondering whether I could sand the top smooth with a very fine grain to smooth it out without damaging the finish. If yes, how would I best go about doing this? If no, how should I carry on from here? Perhaps sand and then add another layer of Hardwax Oil?Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm very new to any kind of woodworking and the internet only provided information on how to prevent wood raising. Thanks in advance! via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2Grafdy
