Hello, I don’t know about you guys, but I live in Tennessee and as a southerner I am woefully unprepared for almost every year’s winter season. This year it’s especially rainy and my only rain proof coat is not warm, and not big enough to put the three layers of wool sweaters I usually wear under my larger coat (which is neither warm nor waterproof but has a lot of pockets).
I’ve always bought my coats at thrift stores, but right now it seems like everyone has the same idea and there isn’t a good selection. I’m wondering how r/frugal buys their winter coats, so that they’re warm, water resistant, big enough to support layering, and stylish/presentable.
