Appreciate any input you can give me on a hybrid briefcase/backpack bag. I don't want leather, but I want it to be lightweight, slim, and professional looking (gov job with blazer professional). Probably black or brown, but very dark other colors like blue might work. I haven't liked most of the grey bags I've seen. I'd be willing to spend a few hundred U.S. if it is really BIFL (hoping to stay under $200 if possible though).
I found this old thread but didn't see anything fitting the bill. I've google all sorts of terms like "combo hybrid briefcase backpack professional slim" etc.
I'm thinking a bag somewhat like this but slimmer and more professional looking. I don't need tons of pockets or side compartments.
I don't really care if it has a shoulder strap option vs handles. I will say that the hybrids that have handles usually look weird as backpack...literally just a briefcase strapped to your back lol. But I also rarely use the sidestrap style because it is often uncomfortable to me. I just need to be able to walk into the office looking professional, would use it as a backpack most of the time.
Clamshell opening is a plus but not required, but comfort in the backpack configuration is!

EDIT: Although it must be slim, expandable would be nice when I'm flying and would like to take extra clothes or something!
