I'm going to be laying hardwood flooring in my house soon. It's 7" planks of engineered hardwood to be exact, and the longest planks are 72".All the rooms minus the bathrooms are getting the hardwood. I know the rule of thumb is to lay it in the direction of the longest wall, however, my longest wall is perpendicular to the hallway, so if I did it that way wouldn't the hallway look weird with the flooring running the width of it?I know there is the option of running a t-molding at the beginning of the hallway and switch the orientation there but I'd rather not do that unless I absolutely have to.This is the basic layout of my home, pretty much drawn to scale. There is one measurement missing which is from the back of the kitchen to the end of the great room (basically the east wall of the house), it's 45'8".Any ideas?http://bit.ly/2RmpMly via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2QAL4Xe
