TL;DR: We’re building an app so you never miss that J.Crew sale again, and we’d love to hear your input on what would be useful features.
Hey FMF,
We’re college students and long-time lurkers building an app for male fashion deals and advice, looking for community input. The app is a combination of r/frugalmalefashion and r/malefashionadvice, with a bunch of extra features built for this community.
Specifically, you can get notifications whenever the sites you are interested in have sales (e.g. get notified when J.Crew has a sale) and you can easily browse related past sales (e.g. so you know if a BR Rapid Movement Chinos sale is good or if you should wait because Friends and Family is coming up soon). There’s also a separate section for discussions about fit, quality, personal fashion advice and the like.
Here are our key features so far:
- Post, view and upvote deals (like FMF)
- Discuss clothes and post pictures to ask for advice
- Get instant notifications when your sites have sales
- View past sales from retailers and (in alpha) our predictions for upcoming sales
We’re looking for the community’s feedback to make this something that you'd find useful.
Questions:
- What do you guys think about the app idea?
- What would make you want to use it?
- What other features would you like to see?
Comment below to let us know what you think (or if you’d be interested in beta-testing!).
- Luke and George
EDIT: Wow, thanks for the feedback dudes! For those interested in beta testing or getting notified when we launch, I've put together a super quick Google form.
