Looking to open a small position in an REIT just to balance out a portfolio but not sure how to look at various funds. What are some key metrics I should be considering when choosing an REIT? Are there a few 'standard' funds that people generally recommend like what SPY/VOO is to the SP500?
EDIT: If it helps, I'm looking at $MFA.
