So I got a $125 dollar holiday gift card back in December and so did everyone else at my job. I thought this was a nice gesture. It made me feel like my job cares for their employees. Today, I check my paystub and there is a deduction of -$125 dollars with the description of “ gift card”. What is that about? If I knew it’d be deducted I wouldn’t have taken it. We were not told about any conditions of the gift card. It was just handed to me by my manager and she said “ thank you here you go”. I find this extremely shocking. Now I’m $125 short on my paycheck which could have gone to my $200 dollar electric bill due tomorrow or else I get my electric shut down. WTF!?!? Can anyone explain this? I have a screen shot if anyone wants to see it. I’m so confused. Why!?
