Some things only come in plastic (game consoles for example). Or maybe it's something you already own. If you want it to last much longer, cover it with a UV protective clear coat. I know "Krylon" sells one, but it doesn't seem to be stocked in Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart... You have to order it to the store, or off Amazon. If it's vinyl, look for marine (as in boat), UV protectants. UV light is what makes plastic brittle and discolored. Also, your windows do stop some UV light, but not all of it. In fact, the UV light that gets through is the more harmful UVA waves.
