What are your opinions on floating floorboards? We are moving into a house my partner owns and I HATE the tiles. They're these red/brown waterproof terracotta things that don't match the house (or literally anything else) and they're EVERYWHERE. From the entrance to the kitchen, breakfast nook, dining, hallway, and both bathrooms. I was keen to pull them out and re-tile, but he was balking at the price (also, he doesn't think there's anything wrong with them "So what if they're ugly? It's just a floor" shudder ).So I started looking at flooring today and the salesman pointed me towards floating floorboards, which would be cheaper. This version has the underlay attached and is guaranteed UV light, scratch, and stain proof for 25 years. The BF thinks they'll feel like they are shifting underfoot and might warp.So what do you guys think? Have you done it? Pros? Cons? Loved or hated them, I'd love to hear your thoughts. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2FRv1n9
