My dad was just diagnosed with cancer (leukemia). He is going to have a long road and will be out of work for a very long time if not permanently. My parents have no retirement fund or savings. My mom does not work because she takes care of my disabled brother and sister who need total care. My dad was the one who worked always and paid the bills. Obviously, everyone is extremely heartbroken. I am not in a financial situation to help very much or very long term. They do have Medicaid which will hopefully pay medical bills. They have some food stamps and SSI for my sister. All in all though, this won’t cover their rent. Is there any financial assistance they can get?
This is a terrible situation and the finances are stressing them that they won’t be able to afford rent. This is the only way I know to help right now. We live in PA if it matters.
