Hey folks, i've just finished building a desk outta ceiling batten with a plywood top and i want to paint it.I've had some mixed results in my research into the right way to paint furniture, with most paints only having instructions for housing applications, not furniture. Compounding this is the fact its going to be a high wear area, with my computer mouse and drawing setup. Is an oil primer/undercoat and a water based paint over the top the way to go? It was suggested because apparently water based primers make the grain of plywood pop and i am trying to keep a flat surface.I've also seen furniture that was painted and ended up tacky or sticky which I very much want to avoid.Any suggestions and wisdom for painting this desk is much appreciated! via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2FH9CfH
