What are your guys’ best tips on finding housing that’s affordable for living in cities? My husband and I are both students and we’re trying to decide where to live while we work this summer WITHOUT spending all the money we make just on an apartment. We’ve thought about splitting apartments with people or renting a subleased apartment. Any tips on those options or other ideas? Thanks in advance for any helpful tips!
Edit: Here’s more information- we’re not sure exactly where we’ll be living for the summer. But, if we stay in the state our school is in, we may try to live in Boise. The other options are Albuquerque (NM) and Bloomington or Indianapolis (IN). It depends on what job he gets. We have family in Indiana & New Mexico. Also, moving will not be a huge issue as we essentially live a no-furniture lifestyle and don’t really have a lot of stuff. E.g., we could pack all our belongings in 4 large-ish suitcases.
