There is an older mobile home on my property that shares the same water line coming to our house. It was supposed to be moved off but anyway to make a long story short, without heat, skirting, or the water running, a pipe froze and is leaking. I can't just turn off the main and not worry about it because that cuts off water to our house. It is still going to be awhile before it is moved but I want to go ahead and dig down, cut the line and cap it.It looks like 3/4 inch PVC coming into the mobile home from the water line. The plan was to use PVC cement and put a cap on it but temperatures right now are in the 30's and will probably be 30 degrees when I get home. The whole process doesn't seem difficult but I'm always afraid of leaks and the temperature has me concerned. Do I just look into the product information for curing time in cold temperature? Will it still cure properly in cold weather? From my understanding it bonds the PVC rather then just gluing so I thought it should still work. Also I plan to eventually put a frost free hydrant where the line comes up after the trailer is moved. Are there any tips or warnings for capping that would effect ability or ease of installing a hydrant later? Thanks everyone via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2G8g1Rp
