Hello, I'm 25 currently live in AL, work almost 13 hrs in a day and would love to better budget my $1700 monthly (after tax) income! Here's a breakdown of it:
Food -$200
Rent and utilities - $600
Insurances - $200 (This covers my health and car insurances)
Gas - $80
Internet, phone and cable - $90
CC debt payments - $200 (slightly over $2.4k in debt, 17% APR)
Car loan - $200 (Japanese sedan)
Misc household and personal expenses - $50
That leaves me with like $80 to save, which is definitely not enough as I wish to buy a house in the future! Can anybody recommend where I should save more? How would you recommend I do so? I've been trying to trim my rent further but can't move right now due to job constraints. My boss has promised to give me a raise in 6 months though, so I'd probably take home about $2100 for my personal use soon. Thanks!
Non-negotiable and non-budgetable monthly expenses:
$100 - My grandfather
$1500 - Mom
$50 - Religion-related donations
These are permanent fixtures that cannot be altered for the next 2 years or so, so please focus on the $1700 I have. Thank you!
