So, I moved into a new apartment a few months ago. Now that winter is here in force, I've noticed my AC unit(built into the wall) isn't sealed very well. I covered it with three blankets, which has helped, but it's getting down below -15F here at night, and the cold is still pushing through. My neighbors have plastic bungied to theirs on the outside, and I'm going to run to the store and get some plastic and bungie cords after work today. But assuming that doesn't completely solve the issue(or if anyone here has a better idea), I'd like something else for the inside as well. More plastic for the inside? Anything in particular I should be looking for? I looked into the AC unit covers on amazon, but they don't cover the accordion side panel things, and those are definitely not sealed and a solid 4 inches on either side.

Any advice is appreciated, I don't mind spending a bit of money if it's going to save me more in heating bills!

quick edit: I don't care if it looks awful, it's still better than dealing with huge heating costs.
