I do a lot of DIY home repair, but I've never dealt with floors before. The bathroom is just a tiny thing on the main floor, with a basement underneath it. If that wasnt there, I would be more willing to give it a go, but I don't want to fall into the basement. It looks to me like the subfloor under the tiles are rotted, and need to be replaced.
