Here is first attempt to post here and not be removed, and first exposure of my latest DIY: a welding workbech ! I did that for my father christmas, given that he does not have so much room inside to weld, while plenty room outside. So I design this to be dismounted and stored easily, and to be moved from here to there.First things first:whole project here: http://bit.ly/2BBP18O product herehttps://i.redd.it/q1yq8eqnuh621.jpgI started with a single frame made out of square steel tubes:http://bit.ly/2QQO3zR I added several pieces of thick steel across the workbench. To keep regular space, I stick all pieces and weld one every two. Not easy here due to difference in thickness between materials. As you can below, the whole purpose of this workbench is to avoid wood workbench to be burnt by high welding temperatures.http://bit.ly/2BDC7qV leave an empty space on the right to add a stone, only isolated zone of the whole workbench, and the stone being resistant to high temperature, it will be where to put the hot electrode. And I add a removable piece of steel that will be used to start new electrodes. It can be changed if too much trashed.http://bit.ly/2QTgRrJ weld four large tubes to allow workbench to be mounted onto support.https://i.redd.it/yno1k85dxh621.jpgHere are the support. One with wheels, the other no:http://bit.ly/2BDtgpg is made rigid using 2 long diagonals + 2 horizontal bars.http://bit.ly/2QMMX8p drill a hole in the stone to allow to stabilize te electrode. I add two bed foots in wood to allow the whole workbenc to be moved on its wheels. To do so, two holes, and two bolt welded on top the holes. Then I can screw the wood bed foot.http://bit.ly/2BEEtWs only 4 butterfly nuts, it is entirely dismountable in a minute:http://bit.ly/2QPdWjz you will like it ! via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2GCoIoI
