Hey /r/DIYYou were such a tremendous help last time, I'm back.I am trying to mount a nest cam outdoor outside under the soffit in front of garageSo a few things, Im a first time homeowner and work in IT and thus am not very handy but analytical/techical. However I'd like for this to change and thus I am coming to you to learn. This is the target for the camera http://bit.ly/2s2kdJU was torn between mounting it on the vinyl or on the brick and then how to get the power into the garage to the outlet inside. This is the inside of the garage. http://bit.ly/2LCQ5xX was leaning toward mounting it on the siding but I wasn't sure if there was a better way than just screwing into the siding to hit the plywood underneath? I see some things like this https://thd.co/2QaiSdz which might make sense to avoid looking like the siding is depressed at the screw point. What do you all think? And then for the power I was thinking of running it down the side of the house and sliding it into the flexible seals by the garage. The nest outdoor requires a fairly large power nub so I was thinking that rather than drilling that big of a hole under the siding but who knows? that may not be as big of a deal I am thinking... You can see the power nub here https://goo.gl/images/sfW23eOverall, I'm trying to do this right, rather than quick. Any help you could provide would be appreciated via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2RlfyBb
