Free gift tags : You know those gift cards that come in those little envelopes? Get a few of them just for the envelope when cut down to size they make for beautiful gift tags. Be sure to grab designs that have as little of the logo showing as possible
Cheaper wrapping paper: Wrapping paper can be expensive especially closer to the season try your local charity stores or go for parcel paper. Parcel paper is just plain brown but if you add a little glitter and call it homemade no one bats an eye.
Ribbons: Gift wrap designed for wrapping paper is super expensive but you can go to your local cloth market and buy alot more for alot less. People will even sometimes avoid wasting it when you give it to them (such as using it as a toy for the family cat)
Cards: Whilst you are at the market check the card shops and check how cheap it can be to make your own cards plus once you buy them you'll often have enough for next year it's one of the reasons why this was a popular hobby.
Children: Charity and thrift stores for clothes (it's best to take the children to pick out a few items)
If they don't want clothes get them cheap art sets from tissue paper crayons scrap paper and glitter as well as anything else children might have fun with like empty sewing rolls
Adults: Set a budget with your close friends of how much is acceptable as this reduces the stress of the group
Family gifts : Bake or make something a freshly cooked meal or great cake is such a good gift! If you cant bake try checking for reduced price cakes or try a new easy recipe. Often family members won't notice if you use cheap ingredients (unless your family are bakers)
Gifts for pet lovers: Buy a cheap one dollar or so cat or dog toy when sending a gift to someone with a beloved pet they won't have an idea how much you spent and will think it's so thoughtful of you.
