I lurk this sub a good bit, and I mostly see boots recommended for work, certain styles, people that hike and travel a lot. I see people recommending Iron Rangers and Vasque boots, a lot of good products but they tend to be pricey and don't really fit the scope of what I need to buy them for. So can anyone offer suggestions for a more casual but quality pair?
I need them to be weatherproof/resistant, appropriate for outdoors, but still comfortable and suitable for everyday casual wear. I do hike and enjoy exploring outdoors on occasion and enjoy it immensely but I don't do it frequently enough to warrant a pair of top quality hiking boots. I also don't have a job/career that requires good boots or being in them 10+ hours a day. I guess what I need is a sort of jack-of-all-trades type of boot. Any suggestions? I understand and am willing to part with a reasonable sum for a quality pair of boots, but $350 bucks for a good pair of Iron Rangers seems like a bit much and also a product not really geared towards what I'd use it for. Any suggestions?
