For you BIFLers, even if your product is not cover by a Lifetime Warranty, first thing to do if your product fails is to contact the customer service department. On three occasions, I have contacted customer service on issues that I have had with products. Now, I did not enter the conversation blaming the brand on poor quality, I simply called and said that I had an issue with their product, this is what happened, and I wanted to make sure that they were aware of it. I didn't ask for a replacement or anything, and 100% of the time, I got a replacement. The first was a pair of 511 boots that developed a hole at the natural crease after a year and a half. The second was a SOG multitool that had its wire cutters dented. The third was Columbia boots that essentially had its glue wear out and come apart after 5 years of use. In all cases I got a replacement after a few photos. So, if you liked the brand/product enough to hand over your hard earned cash, the least you could do is to give the customer service department info on where the product fails, and hopefully they will correct the future editions (also, you may get a replacement for your troubles!).
