I built an electric skateboard and have grounding straps to carry the current from the battery to the motors (see photo).https://i.redd.it/cm702kw0o3621.jpgThe two grounding straps are uninsulated, and physically fairly close together which makes me somewhat uncomfortable that they may accidentally short-circuit against each other. To prevent this, I'd like to cover each grounding strap with a layer of strong tape to insulate them from one another and also keep them securely in place. Then, over-top of all of this, I plan to apply the typical grip-tape. The problem is, I am not sure what type of tape would be suitable to cover each grounding strap. It would need to be:1) relatively wear resistant and durable2) extremely tacky and unlikely to become unbonded3) not electrically conductive4) relatively thinDoes anyone have a recommendation for a more suitable adhesive tape?Right now I am using some clear packaging tape, which only satisfies condition #3. I have some self-adhesive velcro backed tape (linked) that is extremely sticky and would work well for this, except it is really thick and would feel odd to stand on, even under grip-tape.https://amzn.to/2EMbELI via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2Cverqr
