I was recently added as an authorized user on two of my wife's credit cards (she is brilliant and has immaculate credit, and until recently I was an ignorant fool - didn't use my credit card at all during grad school and let it cancelled - now we're looking to buy a house and I'm in turbo credit building mode)
When the chase card showed up on my credit report, it showed with the full history and payment info (which was the point, and also AWESOME), But the American Express showed up as though I had opened a new account - zero time or payment history.
Does authorized user reporting vary between credit card companies, or can I call and have American Express update my credit report? How should I proceed?
