Picture One Picture TwoThese pictures are of an old plant holder (planter?), whatever you call it that my mom bought for my grandmother about 40 years ago in Mexico. Ever since I could remember (age 3 on), I have always found it very amusing. My grandmother called it "Que Pasa" which is a "what's up" sort of greeting in Spanish.Anyway my grandma gave it to me, and as you can see it is in poor condition. in its prime, the donkey was primarily a terra cotta color with brown hooves and big white teeth. All of the paint has come off leaving an ugly mess. I have no idea what I need to do to restore it. It appears to be some kind of porous stone material, very rough. Just paint it?? What kind of paint? Any suggestions from the DIY community? via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2LDCgiw
