I bought this desk online and have it assembled already, but want to replace the 3 pieces that compose the top with better material.I'm looking to have the new desktop be white. What I'd ultimately want is whatever material cubicle desks have as a desktop (example). I don't know what that material is, but I did some searching and it seems to be something called "high pressure laminate", although I could be wrong. My question is -Where would I be able to find this material (high pressure laminate) cut to specific dimensions? I'd need two pieces that are 40" x 21.7" and the center triangular piece which is 24.3" wide with two 45-degree angle cuts. As you'll notice, these are very strange dimensions so this eliminates most if not all online services that do custom cuts, which round everything off to inches.I would also want this to be routed along the edges that face the chair....or would you just recommend regular wood? If so, what's the best way to paint it white and finish it so that it's completely smooth and can last as a desktop that will have heavy use?Note that I have no power tools or knowledge, nor do I know anyone who can help. So, I'd need to find a service that does this online. It looks like Home Depot/Lowes doesn't do intricate cuts, and they definitely don't do routing. I looked to see if there are local woodworking shops, but I don't think these places will take such a small job. I'm at the point where I have no idea how to get this done. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2UYBKjo
