We need to move out in two months, and we are actively looking for houses, but we’re concerned about what we’ll run into when trying to sign a lease due to my boyfriend’s bad credit. I have never rented a house before, so I’m not sure what the landlords expect. Would they be okay with only me being on the contract? Or will they require him to be on it as well if he’s living there? I know some places require that your income be 3x the rent, and if it was only me on the contract I’d probably only make 2x the rent per month.
What can we expect to run into? Thank you!
