Every winter my legs (particularly sockline shin area) get really dry and itchy. probably because i'm prone to heating the car using the floor vent vs chest high ones, but pick your poison eh?
my morning routine is roll out of bed and into clothes, so there isn't a whole lot of effort put into my lovely visage. Ideally i'd like something thick and deeply moisturizing I can apply when I wash my hair 1-2x a week at night and have the time to lube up and let soak in. especially since I shower at "boil lobster in 4 min" temp water.
I've tried several brands/types. lately I have had a lubriderm (pink?) and a jergens, I think I have some gold bond stuff right now as well. . I bought some soap and glory and i'm gonna have to toss that shit.
My issue is they don't seem to moisturize, just make my legs kinda gummy and slightly less painful. within a few days my legs are painful and itchy again.
This situation has been going on since I was a early teen, but fast approaching 40 i'm less tolerant.
I clearly need to buy something new because current bottles aren't doing it. but I keep buying and tossing bottles of lotion because they don't do anything or leave my skin feeling sticky and weird until I shower again.
I hate wasting money almost as much as I hate having red inflamed itchy skin. lol.
The only moisturizers I HAVE liked is a now discontinued nivea face/body moisturizer (I think I bought it last in late 90s tho) that wasn't enough for winter leg skin, but worked well on face. Too cool for school pumpkin sleeping pack is what I used on my face everyday. takes about 6m to go through a tube and at like 10 bucks per it's totally fine, but again it's face.
I really like the jo malone body creme I bought, but at 80 bucks for a like 6oz tub that shits more expensive than gold. I got it as a buy one get one free promo, no way i'd spend 80 bucks on lotion. that stuff is amazing (a bit strongly scented for regular lotion IMHO) it sinks right into skin and doesn't leave skin feeling greasy or tacky.
I've bought and tried body shop butters, and they are not greasy/tacky but don't seem to sink into legs really.
Does anyone have a recommendations? i'd like to find something that works decently before full cold weather here in texas. (And yes, I drink almost 2 gallons of water per day, and I run a humidifier when I think to. I grew up in chicago and I had this issue there too. seems it's just my body - I have delicate little skin. grr)
