I am a super frugal guy. I ran my own business for the last two years, and it really taught me that I can live on nearly nothing besides the basics.

I nearly stopped drinking (year over year expenses on booze dropped over 1,500 dollars). I almost never ate out except when it was a necessity for work. All clothes were second hand. Gifts were homemade (I do fine wood working), tools and supplies were sunk business costs.

My only vice was coffee. Even then, for the year I only spent about 600 on that. That included a new espresso machine and grinder for home brewing, and all the coffee beans I used at home. Considering I was work 12 to 16 hour days, and my caffeine intake was crazy high, I think I did ok in the department.

But now I took a reasonably high paying job, 75k to 85k, with good benefits in a stable industry. I will be given a company car for daily driving. This ticks all the boxes for a frugal lifestyle change.

Here's where I am going off the rails, I want a nice car for sunday driving and track days. My thought is a Civic type R. I love the silly ass styling of it, I love that it's ridiculously. But it's kinda fast, reasonably practical (5 door hatch), will probably last forever, and hold resale (check out the resale values of the s2000). I think of it as entertainment cost sunk over 10 to 15 years.

I am crazy right?
