I have four rather large paychecks that are three years old. I worked as a contractor at the time, (if this matters?)they were not taxed and I have paid taxes on them. I wrote to the woman who takes care of the books and she said she would write one check for all, in some form of payment that would not be taxed again. Then she wrote to say “her incoming payments were late, can we pay you later”? I agreed, even though the nature of the business would not put them in the position to receive late payments.
My worry is, might there be a statute of limitations, and could she just be dragging me through into 2019 so she will not have to pay? Is there a way I can position myself to receive this money?
