Laying down a small flagstone area near my firepit. Area is excavated and I am going to pick up the Paver Base this afternoon, problem is both landscape supply places are giving me conflicting advice. Neither place has crusher run or patio base btw.One suggests Chico rock. Doesn't seem right as I was under impression base should have jagged rocks, fines, and dust for compaction.The other place said to use decomposed granite. Is this ok for the base layer? It will be covered by 1" leveling sand then lay out flagstone really close together and brush in polymeric sand.I'm hesitant to use decomposed granite at $80/yd for a base layer to be covered up.What should I use for base layer if crusher run isn't available? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2FYN7EQ
