PICTURES: https://ift.tt/2U30G9g guitar pedal collection has grown to the point where I absolutely need a carrying case and pedal board. I can buy a square piece of aluminum for 200+ bucks, but that wouldn't be very fun.I recently came into possession of an old fender guitar case and figured it would be perfect to turn into a built in pedalboard/case combination. The problem is, that it is much too wide. My idea is to take off some sections on either side of the Fender logo and shorten the case, like this. The case is made out of plastic, the edges/lips of the plastic are covered in a metal material. The metal on the bottom has an inlet for the metal on the top to fit into, so when the case is shut the lid doesn't move around. So, here's my issue. When I make the cuts I'm going to have to reattach the plastic in some way and I'm not sure what is the best way to do that. I'm not terribly concerned with how it looks because I can cover the places where the plastic meets with something. Also, when I make the cuts the metal border will most likely become unusable. That in itself is not a problem, but I want the function it serves to be present in the final build.I have never really done anything like this before and would love any and all information you all can give me. Thanks!Edit:I had an idea for reattaching the plastic. It looks like this. I would mask off some lines and sand off material. I don't know what kind of adhesive would work best though. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2zCqQa5
