Hey all! Due to cultural reasons, my friend is going to be disowned soon by her parents, for dating. The process of getting loans for medical school is pretty straightforward. However, the medical school housing doesn’t open until August, and our undergraduate institution ends in May. This would effectively leave her homeless during the summer. Rent in our city is somewhere around 800-1000/month. She would also need money for food. She has no family apart from parents in the US and very little money to her name. Would a summer job pay enough money to cover her rent and food? Should she take out a private loan to make it through the summer? Are there any programs that help with this? Thanks!
