Hopefully this is allowed as i cant really think of another subreddit for it.I finally got around to walling off my woodworking area in my basement and tore up all the carpet. As expected, and something i was worried about, the padding was glued down around the edges and at the seams. I ended up needing to get a scraper to get up all the padding but the adhesive is still all over. some is slightly tacky, some isnt. I tried mineral spirits as suggested on the bottle of pad adhesive i found and that just made a gooey mess.Im leaning towards the DIY epoxy coating but i know the floor needs to be pristine. However, being a basement i cant just clean up by hosing it down like a could a garage. Does anyone know of a good way to do this?Alternatively, im not hard set (heh) on epoxy. I know painting is easy but has the same clean floor requirement. As well as several other options. Dont really want anything too textured because i have several tools and a bench with wheels that i need to move around depending on what im using and it was a PITA moving them on the carpet. Open to opinions, just want it to look nice, be easy to sweep/vacuum, and easy to roll things on. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2PLQwq6
