I've got a couple khaki items that have faded but otherwise are holding up fine. I want to dye them to give them their pop back. I've had mixed results in the past with dying fabric. For example, I had some black denim items that needed to be dyed and it took but faded after a wash or two back to it's look prior to dying. I think in the future I'll let them soak in the dye for longer and air dry them initially after dying instead of machine drying.
Should orange fabric dye on khakis to get the desired color? Any other tips to make it go better? I've heard to get the water to a seawater saltiness, does that actually do anything?
