Hello DIY:I need to service my breakers in my breaker panel. I know that the main can be shut off to eliminate power under the main, but that also still leaves electricity coming into the box. I was told by a friend that there should be a shut off between the meter ball and the service panel. I feel comfortable enough working around electricity, but I don't want to kill myself by bumping an errant energized wire or panel. With this in mind:Does this shut off exist? (between the meter/drop and the service panel)If I do find and turn off the shutoff between the meter and the box, is the box completely inert and I may clean/service/tighten/replace any breakers that are necessary?Am I being waaay too cautious and is killing the electricity at the main sufficient for cleaning/tightening/replacing breakers?Thank you! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2Euo2zL
