Like the title says. I am 18, attending college, no job, no vehicle and with about 700 on my credit card from textbooks (never used and they won’t buy back), bus/train pass and groceries. Whatever savings I had I used in combination with student aid for tuition and a needed laptop. I return home to meet disaster. My parents-both immigrants to US-arguing. My mothers seizures had occurred more frequently, forcing her to quit her job, and my fathers permission to legally work here was terminated. He wants to take my sister back to his country as she’ll be better of w/him, I obviously cannot leave my mother. The issue becomes worse as my mother cannot afford the insurance that made her meds affordable, and I am afraid that I’ll have to dropout of university to take the breadwinner role.
To be clear, I had been helping out in high school although only making $8/hr and had applied for work study this past semester. (no follow up) And I do have interviews lined up this week which will pay $10-11, but even still I can’t see a clear way out and I’m stressing a lot.
