After a very disappointing salary Negotiation I am trying to give them a little fuck you for the last five months of working without a pay raise. I kept track of my overtime hours and I worked basically an extra month for free last year. They were extremely pissed that I kept track of my hours so I had some proof and stance whenever I can to them saying I want to reduce my work week to four days a week. Since I’m already not making enough money I wanted to have a day off to get an additional job.
They came back with well if you want to work less days will switch you to an hourly rate of $17.50. However switching would be the complete opposite of what I wanted because in order to make up the extra money that I would be losing for not working a day I would have to also work a day less to have the time and availability to make up the difference I need in my monthly salary. So I needed an extra $500 a month it turned into 1k a month.
After everyone’s help making me realize that I was not getting paid enough I tried to get paid enough and it did not work out.
The way things are working out right now is my Boyfriend is going to school and hour away from me and it would be the opportunity for us to move in together and finally live together after year and a half.
We can’t move until I get a new job because the chance of getting an apartment when both people don’t have jobs is rare. So how do I relay this message to my boss that I’m trying to leave my job during their busiest season because I definitely don’t want to work 25 days in a row again. Esp with no pay raise!
Do I give them a heads up saying I’m actively searching for a job and at any notice I may but my two weeks in?
