Hi I will keep this short.
Totaled my car so now I have $2k in insurance money and $500 less in monthly bills cuz no car. I don't need one, cuz I live in the city now (saving money on rent too).
I owe Mr. Tire ("drive card") $1300. Have not paid in a number of months so the min payment is now almost $500. Thing is they really fucked me over with a $900 brake job (somewhat my fault, long story) so I don't really mind fucking them right over back. Can I continue to not pay, let it go to collections and attempt to settle? Or is that dumb and should I just pay up. My credit score is already in the 400s so that's not really an issue. Anyone have experience with this card? High interest credit cards in general? How should I go about this?
I also have about $500 in tickets. I plan on definitely paying $161 of that which I see to be legitimate. The rest I will explain briefly:
Included in the $161 is a $32 ticket for expired tags, which I am fine with paying. What is not OK is getting four additional $32 tickets for the same offense within a month.
$102 for "impeding traffic" (2 lanes westbound, one lane blocked) after a car crash.
and then late fees.
Do you think the tickets are worth fighting or would I just be wasting my time?
Everything else I pretty much have down. With the 500 a month I'll be saving I'll start attacking my debts.
Thanks in advance!
