Howdy folks. Various forums seems to have split advice for tiling onto emulsion so I wanted to get some advice from you guys. We've had some work done on our house and I decided to have a go at the tiling. There are two shower areas to tile (only tiling the shower areas, not the whole bathrooms). One is in an old room that has matt emulsion walls painted several years ago. The other is a brand new freshly plastered wall however being the idiot I am I painted it with watered down emulsion followed by a coat of mould resistant bathroom paint, not even considering the tiling until after the damage was done.Should I...a) score the emulsion with something sharp and tile onto it? Will this be sufficient for shower walls?b) try to remove the emulsion using a wallpaper steamer? Will this even work on the new wall I painted on?c) try to sand off the paint using a sander?c) something else? The tiles being used are subway style so are quite small (100mm x 200mm, or 3.9''x 7.9'' if inches are your thing).Any advice would be greatly appreciated!Shower area in new room: https://ift.tt/2PRQFgn area in old room: https://ift.tt/2Rb4sLQ via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2R8ZQFZ
