My dad wants out of the market and plans to only hold treasuries for the few years. Hes only 55.

He says hes recouped his losses from the great financial crisis and made some gains. Hes very concerned that we are about to enter another financial crisis.

A number of his friends never recovered from the financial crisis because they sold out, lost homes, or marriages ended because of the financial stress.

How would you present a case for staying in the market for those who went through the financial crisis and are very nervous now about being wiped out again.

He keeps arguing that he's whole again and that staying in the market this late in the cycle is foolish.

I'm planning to present the case over Thanksgiving.
