Currently REI is running one of their 20% of sales for members, which I'd like to take advantage of before it ends. Right now I am in the market for good snow/winter boots that are durable, waterproof, and will hopefully prevent me from eating pavement from slipping on ice. I live in Chicago and do a bit of walking to get around, so that is important.
Here are the options I am considering. Any advice would be appreciated.
North Face Shellista III like the look of this one in brown, but it's pretty tall. I think I want something lower to the ankle.
Sorel Slimpack IICloser to the look that I want, but am suspicious of the heel & am not familiar with Sorel as a brand.
Kodiak IscentyNo reviews, and not many of the other kodiak boots in their catalog are well reviewed, so that tells me this brand might not be trustworthy?
