Went to a Tgifridays for the first time in ages. They had a 2 for $20 "feast" deal. When the bill came, the suggested 20% tip on the reciept was $9 on a $25 bill.

I know with coupons, you should tip on the pre coupon, pre tax price. What about specials like this? The portions were smaller than regular menu portions for the items.

Both food and service were pretty blah, and we ended up leaving $6, still over 20 percent of the bill, but not by their math. I don't think Ive seen other restaraunts do the tip calculation like this when they have specials, but I don't usually look at the suggested tip, so maybe I'm wrong. What's the standard? I'm frugal, but try not to be cheap.

Sometimes I think a bad restaurant meal actually saves us money, I get so irritated we don't eat out for awhile. How much would you have tipped?
