Hey y'all!

Is there such thing as a car which can last your whole life? These days it seems not..

Options I've found are small-block diesel(very rare, only ones I've seen are old VWs, but run to 500,000+ miles regularly), or older cars.

The problem you seem to run into with newer cars is yes, they're technically more reliable, but you can't repair them yourself, and at some point due to that repairs become greater than the value the vehicle provides. Whereas a select few older cars have notoriously bulletproof engines(For example, the '69 Chevelle 454 and Impala 350) which are simple and mechanical enough for one to maintain oneself.

Am I missing something? Or is it simply not feasible to run the same vehicle for your whole life anymore?
