This is taken from my loft but the rest of the ceiling is about 16.5 feet up. This building is over 100 years old and I have been told repeatedly by the building owner that the roof has been replaced within the past 15 years and is within the limits of what my insurance requires for a policy. Some of this plaster comes down and it’s very dangerous because it’s super heavy and I’m worried it’s going to land on a patron. I’ve noticed it happens after it’s been raining but my building manager says it’s because of the humidity inside the building, not due to any leaking from the roof.Today he came by with a moisture meter and poked the pins into the lathe and plaster here and got a reading of 15% which he said was totally normal. It didn’t seem wet anywhere. The plaster doesn’t seem saturated but I can’t figure out why it’s coming down.plaster via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2DOU74f
